MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Screentech IT Services’ Engineers are available on-call throughout the working day and will attend site to investigate and repair PC’s servers and networks. Where specialist equipment or an upgrade is required then repairs will be made at our workshop in Macclesfield. Clients may if they wish deliver items direct to our workshop.

Many IT problems can be fixed following a telephone conversation with one of our highly experienced Engineers who are available throughout the working day to help maintain the smooth operation of your system.

Secure remote on-line support allows us to view your IT system over a secure internet connection. This allows us to ensure your system is operating at optimum capacity and check its performance. We can apply software updates without the necessity of visiting site and disrupting your business. Crucially we will monitor your backup systems to ensure that any failures are identified quickly.

We provide two levels of service support;

• ADVANCED CARE – Free callout with guaranteed response times, telephone help line and remote supervision and monitoring.
• STANDARD CARE – Chargeable callout with guaranteed response times, free telephone help line and remote supervision and monitoring.

NETWORKS AND COMMUNICATIONS

Modern office environments work much more efficiently when individual computer users have access to common folders containing client data bases, office systems and procedures and ancillary equipment such as printers and scanners. Archives and backup records can also be organised in a secure and reliable manner.

Screentech IT Services can supply and install a fully networked computer system including the provision of all cabling and a central server, all meeting the latest standards and specifications.

We can also problem solve and update existing network systems by installing additional patch panels, switches and server upgrades.

Wireless systems offer laptop users the freedom to roam the building by connecting seamlessly to the main server from their desk, meeting room, reception or board room. Screentech provide wireless systems with security in mind by preventing unauthorised users from accessing the system.

In addition to data sharing over local networks we can also advise on the use of VPN systems for sharing data across separate office locations.

VIRUS PROTECTION

If you have internet access or email you need to ensure that appropriate security systems are in place. A single virus can bring a whole network to a standstill, disrupting business and costing valuable time and money.

As part of our on-site service Screentech IT Services will sweep systems for viruses and clean or repair any damage. We will also advise on the installation of appropriate virus checking software and firewalls. Additionally we can configure the computer network so that only authorised and authenticated users have access.

Email is an essential business tool and Screentech IT Services will advise on the correct use and security of such systems. Where requested we can install the necessary software for the monitoring and recording of email and web based activity to prevent inappropriate use and thereby reduce the risk of imported viruses.

DATA BACKUP

Screentech IT Services have established a secure storage facility where individual accounts are maintained for each client to store their backup files. A remote backup programme sends encrypted files over the internet to the computer storage system safely off-site.

Off-site backup is more secure than storage on a local computer system and is more reliable than tape or disc since it is not necessary to change or rotate the discs and tape. Additionally the off-site backup is checked daily by screentech it services to ensure that data has been collected and safely stored.

By backing up data off site you are protected against any disaster at your own premises and data can be restored to any computer.

Each clients account is password protected and all files are encrypted so that only the client can retrieve their files.

Backup is fully automated using a Windows Explorer interface and files are backed up each working day at specific times. The software identifies new files and those that have changed since the last backup, compresses and then encrypts them. These files are then transmitted via the internet to the Screentech storage facility where it is verified and stored securely.
